24/4/2017 0 Comments Back Home (Blog Post 17)As you can tell from the title, I'm back home from Bali! It was a nice weekend getaway that was way too short. We wanted to go back the following weekend but the national exams are coming up. Mpok was planning for my grandma, her and I to go as my dad will be on a business trip but it turns out that my dad wasn't the only one with plans.
However, yesterday was delightful as I took a dip in the morning and took a bunch of pictures. The clouds wer great and What made me love the villa even more is how photogenic the pool area was. After that, I got together with my 3 and 2 year old quarter Indonesian cousins from London, Elliot and Greta (once removed, I think) and my uncle, Rich, and aunt, Kat. Uncle Rich is my dad's cousin from my grandmother's side. They went to our villa and had a little swim there after having breakfast and the parents did a little catching up. That evening, we went to have dinner at Matahari with them and Aunt Kat's brother's family. We wanted to eat in Menega but that area was closed off for a ceremony so we ate in Matahari instead. We had really nice seafood there. There were lobsters, clams, shrimp, fish, calamari and much more. It was delightful. We watched the sunset as we ate and the kids were really happy with the sand. Later that night, Mpok and I went swimming. I tried to get on one of the floats but kept falling over. When I managed to settle on top of one, I refused to get off ask wouldn't want to try to get back on. The water was nice and warm and the view was dazzling. We basically saw the whole city light up and planes coming in and going out from the airport. This morning, we went to have brunch at Bubba Gump. We ordered too much and wasn't able to finish the food. We also went to some sale stores afterwards but didn't end up buying anything. I can understand why no one wanted it in the first place. No, thank you. We then hopped in the 5 pm plane back to Jakarta and went straight to my grandma's house where my other uncle from Holland and his family were staying. My cousin, Loïs, was there too. She's only 4 months older but we didn't talk much as it was pretty awkward for some reason. Now here I am, slowly falling asleep with my iPad in my hands while getting a massage. Yes, it is necessary, I am beat. Untill next time. ciao, ki
